7. Lehigh: 75, Duke: 70 (2012)

If you want to talk about crazy First Rounds in the history of March Madness, the 2012 NCAA Tournament is right up there as there was not just one, but two No. 15 seeds that overcame their No. 2 seed matchups to advance with a big upset win. The second to go down was the Lehigh Mountain Hawks going toe-to-toe with one of the most prestigious programs in college hoops history in the Duke Blue Devils and not backing down a millimeter.

Led by now Portland Trail Blazers guard C.J. McCollum as he put forth a simply absurd stat line of 30 points, six assists, six rebounds, and two steals against mighty Duke, the Mountain Hawks played with the fearlessness that you love to see from lower seeds looking to pull of major upsets. Not only were they able to answer any counter strikes that Duke would throw, but they were ultimately able to put them away.

Given the talent of that Duke team with Miles and Mason Plumlee, Austin Rivers, and Seth Curry on the roster, you might think that this upset would be higher. However, the fact that Lehigh benefitted a great deal from Duke simply going cold from long range ultimately hurts the case for the Mountain Hawks. Even still this was a great game featuring a stellar performance by a future star in McCollum.
