Stone Cold Steve Austin sends support to Stephen F. Austin in March Madness

After Stephen F. Austin upset West Virginia in March Madness, Stone Cold Steve Austin showed his support

The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks were one of the many lower seeds to pull off big upsets in First Round March Madness action on Friday as the No. 14 seed Lumberjacks toppled the No. 3 seed West Virginia Mountaineers. Not only are they still dancing in March, but Stephen F. Austin also is becoming a bit of a cult-hero as a school because, simply, their name conjures up thoughts of Stone Cold Steve Austin.

The Lumberjacks aren’t unaware of this in the slightest and, after knocking off West Virginia on Friday, the program’s official Twitter account reached out to Stone Cold and said that they would be honored to see him in Brooklyn if he was in the area. On Saturday, Steve Austin replied and, though he won’t be able to come to Brooklyn for the Lumberjacks’ Second Round game, Stephen F. Austin has the support of Stone Cold Steve Austin:

Just when you think that March Madness can’t get any better, Stone Cold Steve Austin comes out of nowhere and stuns you with something like this.

The only thing that would make this better is if Stephen F. Austin began adopting characteristics of Stone Cold for the rest of March Madness. If they win against Notre Dame, climb the backboard and chug some beers while soaking in the cheers of the crowd (at least the upperclassmen who are of age). Hell, let them enter the arena on a Zamboni or a beer truck.

Even if they don’t adopt his mannerisms, though, having the support of Stone Cold is a pretty solid way to galvanize a team for a Cinderella run. Austin 3:16 says watch out for the Lumberjacks in March Madness.
