A look at the updated 2016 March Madness Bracket after Duke beat Yale to advance to the Sweet 16
The Duke Blue Devils looked like they were sharpie into the Sweet 16 of the 2016 March Madness Bracket after the way that they handled the Yale Bulldogs in the first half of their Second Round matchup on Saturday afternoon. They were up by 27 points at one point in the first half, but Yale chipped away slightly at the lead to end the first half and then really started making moves.
Coming out of the locker room after halftime, the Ivy League champs were hell-bent on making a game of things. Thanks to stellar leadership from point guard Makai Mason offensively and incredible defensive effort from the entire Yale team, the Bulldogs were able to chip away quite quickly at their deficit and ultimately were only down four points with less than a minute left to play.
Ultimately the Blue Devils were able to withstand the furious comeback attempt, but the victory came with much more work than they would’ve ever expected—especially considering how Grayson Allen and Duke were rolling in the first half. However, they held on and survived to advance to the Sweet 16, which is the simplest name of the game come March Madness.
With Duke punching their ticket to the Sweet 16, let’s take a look at the 2016 March Madness Bracket to see where things currently stand and see what Duke has ahead of them from here.

The Blue Devils will have a matchup waiting against the winner over the game between the Oregon Ducks and Saint Joseph’s Hawks on Sunday. Either way, they’re going to need to play 40 consistent minutes in a much more obvious way than they did against Yale.
