A look at the updated March Madness bracket after Miami advanced to the Sweet 16 on Saturday afternoon
The Second Round of the 2016 NCAA Tournament and March Madness is underway, and we officially have our first entrant into the Sweet 16 portion of the festivities. After winning what was a thrilling game to start things off on Saturday, the Miami Hurricanes are moving on to the South Regional semifinal after a win over Wichita State.
Following the win, here’s a look at the updated 2016 NCAA Tournament bracket with the Hurricanes moving on.

It wasn’t easy for Miami by any means, but they got the job done in the end. At one point they were up by as much as 21, but Wichita State is not one of those teams that will die easily. The Shockers fired all the way back to even take a lead, but Miami was not letting this one slip away in the end, thanks to a tremendous effort from Angel Rodriguez who dropped in 28 points.
Prior to this win on Saturday, Miami was victorious on Thursday over Buffalo.
Now, the Hurricanes will await their next opponent, which will be either Villanova or Iowa. Both of those teams will play on Sunday, so Miami will not know what they’re up against for a little over 24 hours.
But the important part for the ‘Canes at this moment is that they’re moving on to the Sweet 16 and they have more work to do coming up next week.
