4. Messi should come to America for the money.

Almost anytime a player makes a move in any sport, it’s for the money. Of course, players want to win, but the lure of money often has an effect on whether or not a player decides to sign somewhere.

Currently, Messi is making almost $50 million before taxes just from contracts with Barcelona. He is making an extra $20 million from endorsements with Adidas and Turkish Airlines.

One of the first big name players to enter the league was David Beckham in 2007. At that time, when Beckham was in retirement age, he reportedly signed a five year contract with the LA Galaxy for $250 million. You think the Galaxy couldn’t or wouldn’t do that now? Think again. Any big team in America would be stupid not to offer Messi a blank check.

Because not only would he bring many many titles to their team, he would bring so many jersey and ticket sales. Their revenues would skyrocket despite having to pay him probably close to a million dollars a week, which is not out of the question.
