Find out which NASCAR drivers are guaranteed to give you fantasy success at the Auto Club 400.
The Auto Club 400 takes place on Sunday. It will be run at the two-mile long track in Fontana, Californa at the Auto Club Speedway where cars often go three-wide and whip around the curves at fast speeds. NASCAR fans are always wondering which drivers to pick for their fantasy team week in and week out, below are four drivers who should find quick success during the Auto Club 400 on Sunday afternoon.
Kyle Busch
The current leader at the top of the standings is Kyle Busch who’s tied with Kevin Harvick at 154 points. Before Brad Keselowski ended his streak of winning at Auto Club Speedway, Busch won back-to-back races in 2013 and 2014. There’s a good chance Busch is in the running to win this year’s race.
So far this season Busch has four finishes within the top five and has the most top-five finishes of all NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers.
Kurt Busch
The other Busch is one of three drivers (Kyle Busch and Kevin Harvick) with four top-ten finishes and they both sit above him in the NASCAR points standings. Busch isn’t far behind in fourth place and won the then Auto Club 500 in 2003. He knows what it takes to be successful on the track and he’s proved it on the longer racetracks like this weekend’s race.
Busch will be hungry to outperform his brother in Fontana, California and move into the points lead. He’s only 17 points behind the leaders so this weekend’s results will definitely have a say into how the standings look post-race.
Denny Hamlin
Hamlin isn’t having the best season of his career so far, but it’s off to a very good start. The young driver is looking to find success in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and sitting sixth in the standings through four races isn’t too shabby. He has a chance to prove himself as one of the best young drivers in NASCAR, but he must bring his best on Sunday.
It’s a speedway, which means the cars will be flying around the track at faster than usual speeds. The slightest of error on his part or his car not driving an ideal condition could cause trouble for him and others around him. Yet, he’s proven himself so far this season, so fantasy users should feel comfortable picking him for the Auto Club 400.
Brad Keselowski
Keselowski is the defending champion of the Auto Club 400 held on the two-mile long track in Fontana, California. He already has a win under his belt this season and another NASCAR Sprint Cup Series victory would springboard him higher into the the chase standings and carry momentum into the following race.
Even if he doesn’t end up winning the Auto Club 400, he should finish within the top-10, if not top-5 drivers.
