Demetrious Jackson throws down massive dunk, Notre Dame bench celebrates (Video)

Notre Dame guard Demetrious Jackson threw down a monstrous dunk and the bench lost it

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish found themselves in a war with the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks on Sunday in Second Round March Madness action as the Lumberjacks looked to channel the power of Stone Cold and keep dancing. However, it was Notre Dame guard Demetrious Jackson that was in the business of handing out stunners—in the form of monstrous dunks, of course—early in the second half.

After going into halftime only up one, Jackson and the Irish were looking to come out swinging and build a bit more of a lead. Still up only three points, Notre Dame pushed the ball ahead to Jackson in transition. The explosive guard saw a lane through the Stephen F. Austin defense and charged through it before taking off to throw down an absolute rim-rocker. Like every good dunk, though, it was topped off by a great celebration from the Notre Dame bench:

Nice dunk, Demetrious Jackson—but your teammate on the bench fainting as a celebration is the real star of this play.

In a game such as this that had been tight from the very start, a dunk like that to get the team energized and the crowd going can really change the momentum of things. We’ll see if that’s the case for Jackson and the Irish and if that bench will still be celebrating once the final buzzer sounds.
