After Maryland beat Hawaii to move to the Sweet 16, a look at the update 2016 March Madness bracket
The Maryland Terrapins almost blew a lead in their First Round matchup in March Madness against the South Dakota State Jackrabbits. Though they were able to advance and were again playing a double-digit seed in the Second Round in the No. 13 Hawaii Rainbow Warriors, everyone could see the Terps were going to have to put forth a much stronger effort.
Early on against Hawaii on Sunday, it really didn’t look like Maryland was going to be able to kick it up a notch as they looked again like they may be in danger of falling victim to an upset as the final buzzer drew near. As Hawaii continued to compete throughout the entire first half, an upset bid became increasingly likely.
However, the Terrapins seemed to finally find a groove in the second 20 minutes of play, led by their star point guard in Melo Trimble. Though they didn’t blow the Rainbow Warriors away, they were able to build a lead and give themselves a cushion until the game’s end to help Maryland advance to the Sweet 16.
With the Terps triumphing over Hawaii, let’s take a look at the updated 2016 March Madness bracket to see what’s next for Maryland and how the Sweet 16 is shaping up to this point.

Maryland has a huge matchup awaiting them in the Sweet 16 as they’ll take on the No. 1 overall seed in the Kansas Jayhawks for the right to go to the Elite Eight, which will surely be one of the better March Madness games of the entire tournament.
