No. 13 Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks vs No. 6 Notre Dame Fighting Irish
Stephen F. Austin pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the NCAA Tournament’s first round this season. Not many people picked West Virginia to win it all, but the Lumberjacks knocking the Mountaineers out this early was certainly unexpected. Can Stephen F. Austin continue its NCAA Tournament magic against Notre Dame?

Thomas Walkup is one of those guys who can change the outlook of a tournament for a lower-seeded, Cinderella-type team. He’s leading the Lumberjacks with 18.0 points, 6.9 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game while shooting 59 percent from the field. Demetrious Floyd is second on the team with 13.7 points and shooting 42 percent from three-point range.
The ACC is showing up and showing off so far in the 2016 NCAA Tournament. After the first round of play, the only team from the conference to fall victim to a round of 64 defeat was Pittsburgh. Notre Dame avoided the same fate by escaping a double-digit halftime deficit to Michigan and finishing strong to take down the Wolverines and advance.
Losing Jerian Grant from last year’s team was a tough blow for Mike Brey, but his Fighting Irish have been given a nice consolation prize in Demetrius Jackson. The point guard is leading the team with 15.4 points and 4.8 assists per game, acting as the facilitator of the offense. Keep an eye on Zache Auguste in the post for the Irish as well.
