Despite some reports, Sting says that he is not officially retired from in-ring competition

Last week TMZ reported that one of the biggest legends in the history of professional wrestling, Sting, is officially retiring from the wrestling ring following his recent neck injury. It was reported that he would be making the announcement at his upcoming WWE Hall of Fame speech, leaving longtime wrestling fans a little heartbroken.

Well, you could possibly put that heartbreak on hold.

TMZ cameras recently caught up with Sting and they asked him about the rumors that have been floating around in regards to a retirement. This is where he dropped the mini-bombshell that he in fact is not “officially retired,” and he also noted that his neck feels “okay.” You can view the video at this link here.

Sting injured his neck during on his second match in a WWE ring last year when he took on WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins. He took some bumps that he probably should’ve had no business taken, and the injury required surgery. This led to original speculation that it would be the last time we’d ever see him in a ring.

Now going back to Sting shooting down the retirement rumors, as much as you might want to believe what he says, you also have to take into account that maybe he doesn’t want the news getting out. Maybe this man –Steve Borden– wants to say he’s going out on his own terms while giving his WWE Hall of Fame induction speech in Dallas on April 2.

Only time will tell whether or not the legendary WCW star is telling the truth here.
