No. 2 Denver Broncos

This offseason went poorly for the Denver Broncos. After Peyton Manning’s retirement, his replacement, Brock Osweiler, left the team in free agency. Now, the defending Super Bowl champions are without any real direction at the quarterback position.

Soon after Brock Osweiler left the Denver Broncos for the Houston Texans, the Broncos traded for quarterback Mark Sanchez. While getting another quarterback on the roster was an important move for the Broncos, Sanchez should not start more games than he is forced to play in.

Mark Sanchez is the perfect example of a quarterback that will rarely win you games, and more often than not lose you games. Denver needed to acquire a quarterback with starting experience and Sanchez was traded for cheaply, that was a solid move. However, the team still needs a starting option at quarterback.

This is where Ryan Fitzpatrick fits into the equation. While Ryan Fitzpatrick can certainly lose you games, he is capable of winning games for a team. Fitzpatrick can beat teams when he executes a solid game plan.

Additionally, the Denver Broncos have good weapons to help whoever is the team’s starter next year. Players like Demaryius Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders, and CJ Anderson are a great surrounding cast.

If the Denver Broncos want to have any chance at repeating as Super Bowl winners they need to sign Fitzpatrick as soon as possible.
