The NBA has warned the Houston Rockets about the use of stickum after Dwight Howard was caught using it.

During a game between the Houston Rockets and the Atlanta Hawks, it was determined that a ball had stickum on it. Stickum is illegal to use in the NBA. Coincidentally, Rockets center Dwight Howard had just checked into the game and touched the ball and Hawks guard Paul Millsap noticed the stickum while shooting a free throw.

According to ESPN, Howard will not be disciplined for the incident though the Rockets have been warned by the league about using stickum.

Here is a video of the incident in question. For whatever reason, Rockets coach J.B. Bickerstaff was seen putting cans of something away and judging by the accusations, it was most likely stickum in the cans that Bickerstaff grabbed.

Making this incident even more weird is that Dwight Howard admits that he has been using stickum for years and that he’s “not tripping“. Howard might not be tripping but he should probably keep quiet about using something that is banned by the NBA.

The Rockets and Howard are both suffering through a season that has been a comedy of errors. This incident sums up the Rockets entire season after entering the season as title contenders.
