High Value SF

Joe Johnson-Miami Heat (5,500): Johnson has been a steady veteran presence for the Heat with the steady production to match with at least 24 fantasy points in each of his last five games while averaging 18.4 points, 3.6 assists, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.4 steals in his 33.4 minutes per game.  He has been a big part of the Heat’s success even without Chris Bosh, and he should continue to find success against the injury-depleted Pelicans tonight.

Michael Beasley-Houston Rockets (4,800): Beasley has been absolutely excellent since joining the team after a very successful campaign in China. Beasley has scored in double-digits in six straight games and capped off his recent surge with a monster game of 30 points and nine rebounds against the Hawks on Saturday.  He has at least 26 fantasy points in four straight games and could be in for even more work on offense if James Harden is sidelined tonight.   Either way, Beasley is a great buy at under 5K and should get enough run against the Thunder to be worth this minimal investment.

Rondae Hollis-Jefferson-Brooklyn Nets (4,000): He’s probably too risky to plug-and-play him in his first game back for the Nets since we’re not sure what kind of minutes limit the promising rookie will be on in his first game in his first game since early December. RHJ will definitely be worth watching in the coming weeks, though, since the Nets need offense and will want to see what they have in Hollis-Jefferson going forward.  He’s more of a watch-and-see mention than someone to drop right into your lineup, but he does have a ton of long-term upside.

Luke Babbitt-New Orleans Pelicans (3,600): Babbitt started for the Pelicans on Sunday against the Lakers and had 21.6 fantasy points on 14 points and eight boards.  He is a nice option at a rock-bottom price since he’ll likely get the starting nod again tonight with Anthony Davis and Ryan Anderson the latest Pelicans to go down with injury.  New Orleans needs some offense, and Babbitt has shown he can provide some of that with at least double-digit scoring and 21 fantasy points in each of his last three games in which he played more than 20 minutes.
