Oklahoma – Buddy Hield

When it comes to the Oklahoma Sooners going into the Sweet 16 for their matchup with the Texas A&M Aggies, it’d be easy to say that players like Khadeem Latin or Ryan Spangler are going to be the guys to watch just to be a bit contrarian. But I’m not going to kid myself as it’s abundantly clear to anyone watching basketball that the Sooners are going to go as far in March Madness as Buddy Hield carries them

Especially as Oklahoma was just trying to hang on and survive in the Second Round against the VCU Rams, Hield has predictably been a superstar for the Sooners up to this point. He put up 36 points and seven rebounds in the win against the Rams after putting up a cool 27 points and five rebounds in their First Round victory over CSU Bakersfield. Obviously it’ll be a much tougher overall matchup for Oklahoma against Texas A&M, which could necessitate an even bigger game from Buddy.

In the end, though, the reason to watch Buddy Hield is because he’s proven time and again that he’s capable of delivering in moments like this. He’s the lone player in the tournament and all of college basketball that can definitively be pointed to as a superstar and not watching what he can do would be near criminal of any hoops fan.
