The Dallas Cowboys aren’t going to draft Ezekiel Elliott with the No. 4 pick.
We are just around the corner from the NFL Draft, which means it’s time for smokescreens and rumors to start running rampant. At the top of the draft, there is utter confusion as to who is going to do what, outside of how the Browns are going to screw up the No. 2 pick.
The Dallas Cowboys sit at No. 4 overall after a surprising down year, and are in a position to draft a young star for the future while being a Super Bowl contender in 2016. The question is who the Cowboys will spend the No. 4 pick, and Jerry Jone is starting to narrow the field.
Jones indicated that the Cowboys will not be taking a running back or a quarterback with the No. 4 overall pick.
Jerry Jones strongly intimated the Cowboys were leaning against running back, quarterback at 4

This could all be a smokescreen, as we’re in that period of the offseason. But if Jones is talking truth, then this almost certainly means that Joey Bosa will be the pick for the Cowboys when they go on the clock.
Most mock drafts have the Cowboys considering Elliott at No. 4, because it makes too much sense to not be at least talked about. Dallas hasn’t had a star running back since DeMarco Murray left and their offensive line is primed to make even Darren McFadden look like a stud. Having Elliott as their franchise back is a mint idea, but adding Bosa is almost a better idea.
Either way, the Cowboys seem to be looking to avoid taking an offensive player with this pick which means it’s either Bosa, Vernon Haregraves or a trade down.
