2. New York Jets

Another team with a great defense that only needs a competent quarterback to win is the New York Jets. After acquiring Ryan Fitzpatrick for a seventh-round pick this past season, the Jets surprised the league and went 10-6, just missing the playoffs.

Now, Fitzpatrick decided this was the time to cash in and is asking for more money than anyone wants to pay him. The Jets are reluctant, which makes sense considering he’s been a journeyman quarterback who has never been to the postseason.

Colin Kaepernick, however, has been to the postseason, and as previously mentioned, the Super Bowl even. The Jets defense with Kaepernick’s explosive offense would be a great match and it’s surprising that the team hasn’t been linked to him more often.

The Jets brass claims that should they fail to agree to terms with Fitzpatrick, they feel confident turning to former second round pick, Geno Smith under center. How anyone can say this with a straight face is baffling.

At no point has Smith shown he has the ability to be a true team leader. The Jets should keep Geno on the bench and make a deal for Kaepernick. He could be the difference between slightly missing the playoffs and making a postseason run.
