Los Angeles Clippers Head Coach Doc Rivers has not ruled out a Blake Griffin return during the regular season.

The Los Angeles Clippers are sitting at fourth place in the Western Conference in a crucial year for the franchise’s future.

After a major collapse in last year’s playoffs against the Houston Rockets, the Clippers need to make a run at the NBA Finals to keep this roster in tact.

A key part of this roster is Blake Griffin, who has been out since Christmas Day after tearing his left quadriceps. He also broke his hand punching a friend, which means he still has to serve a four-game suspension once doctors deem him healthy enough to return.

According to the Los Angeles Times explains how Doc Rivers has not given a definitive date for Griffin’s return.

"Rivers said there was “no concern” that Griffin could miss the rest of the season. “Obviously I guess there’s a chance of that,” Rivers said. “I don’t think that’s going to happen. I think he’ll be back, hopefully sooner than later. But not this week.”"

The smart move would be to bring him back at the end of the regular season, so he can get his suspension out of the way leading up to the playoffs.

The smart move would be to medically clear Griffin to return when he still needs a bit more rest, allowing him to serve his suspension before the playoffs begin.
