2. He is one of the greatest players ever for three different organizations
From the time he broke in with the Seattle Mariners, to his arguably his greatest seasons which took place as a member of the Texas Rangers, to finally his tumultuous run as a New York Yankee, one thing that cannot be debated is the fact that A-Rod has produced at every stop.
Overall, he is a 14-time All-Star, 10-time Silver Slugger award winner and 3-time MVP, to go along with a hefty amount of other achievements across the board. And he has spread out his excellence across the board at every stop as well.
He broke in with the Mariners as just the third 18 year old shortstop since 1900 in 1994, and took the position over permanently the next year. He went on to become the third youngest AL batting champ ever two years later and have three consecutive 40-home run seasons in Seattle and make four All-Star Games.
After signing with the Texas Rangers in 2001, he led the American League in home runs all three years he was in Arlington, averaging 52 per season. He also grabbed two Gold Glove Awards and be an All-Star each season.
Once reaching New York, he won two more MVP awards, became a seven-time All-Star and will likely surpass both Yogi Berra and Joe DiMaggio for most home runs as a Yankee this season.
