Raheem Sterling could miss the rest of the season

Manchester City could be in more trouble after potentially losing Raheem Sterling for the rest of the season.

After finally surpassing their record in the Champions League of the round of 16, Man City has slowly fallen apart. They lost back-to-back games, to Chelsea in the FA Cup and to cross-town derby opponent Manchester United. Not only has their top-four finish in the Premier League been put into question, but they probably just lost Raheem Sterling for the rest of the season.

Although he has not met expectations at Manchester City, having paid $75 million for the 21-year old, he will still be missed in the first team squad for the remainder of the season.

If Manchester City wants to finish top-four in the Premier League, or even move on to the semifinals in the Champions League, they will need to figure out things pretty quickly. Jesus Navas will step in for Raheem Sterling, but they have other questions to answer.

They need to get Sergio Aguero back on track, he is the key to their success up top. Joe Hart returning early could help them in defending Zlatan in the Champions League. Losing Sterling will be a hit, though. He is a constant threat up top with his speed and technical ability. Navas brings the speed but he is not as technically sound as Sterling. His involvement with the English first team for the EURO Championships this summer is also in question, depending upon how soon he can return.
