Ranking starting quarterbacks for each NFL team
27. Sam Bradford, Philadelphia Eagles
Bradford never seemed like a good fit for former head coach Chip Kelly’s offense, and it showed in 2015. Still, the Eagles were willing to give Bradford another shot with few other options available, and signed him two a two-year, $35 million contract in early March.
The 2010 first overall pick was at least able to stay mostly healthy after a series of ACL tears, starting 14 games. However, Bradford did not look comfortable at times in Philadelphia’s offense, and posted a TD:INT ratio of 19:14.
Bradford will now get a chance to prove himself in a different offense, as the Eagles hired Kansas City offensive coordinator Doug Pederson as head coach. It’s a gamble for the Eagles, and a lot of money, but there weren’t any other possibilities on the existing roster, particularly after Sanchez left.
Still, there’s the potential for Bradford to rise well above a No. 27 ranking if he continues to stay healthy. Bradford flashed plenty of talent at times with the Rams, and even began to look more comfortable with Philadelphia towards the end of last year.
If Bradford falters again this year, the Eagles will be back to the drawing board, but there’s still time to salvage his career.
Next: 26. Brock Osweiler, Houston Texans
