Here are five teams that should consider trading for A.J. McCarron.

A.J. McCarron has quickly become a valuable commodity for the Cincinnati Bengals. After seeing action in seven games this season, the former Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback is suddenly seeing his stock around the league skyrocket.

The current landscape of the NFL consists of thirty-two teams competing over a smaller stock of quality quarterbacks. While McCarron is far from one of the better quarterbacks in the NFL, the fact that he played decently in critical games only increased his value.

Furthermore, McCarron is also an attractive option for teams to acquire and allow to compete for a starting job, as his salary is quite manageable. When McCarron was drafted in the fifth round of the 2014 NFL draft, he was allotted a small salary that does not count greatly against a team’s cap room.

While the Cincinnati Bengals organization has made prior comments about McCarron’s availability (or lack thereof), the Bengals owner stated that this week that any player on the team is available for the right price and reports say that includes McCarron.

Moving forward, there will be obvious interest around the league in McCarron. As a result, in order to evaluate the potential trade destinations for McCarron, we will examine potential teams based on three criteria- scheme fit, team need, and the ability for a team to acquire McCarron.
