Two junior hockey teams in Canada fought over a severed moose leg tossed on the ice after a game.

Canada treats hockey the same way that Europe treats soccer. It is absolutely nuts about the sport and has ridiculous traditions. The Flin Flon Bombers, a Canadian junior hockey team has a tradition that involves tossing a severed moose leg on the ice after their games. Apparently their opponents Weyburn Red Wings were not aware of that glorious tradition and took offense to seeing a severed moose leg on the ice. The result was the most Canadian brawl ever – a brawl over a severed moose leg.

How could this brawl get any more Canadian other than if they ate poutine afterwards?

The brawl started because an opponent tried to steal the severed moose leg. Bombers players took offense to that and a huge fight happened. How the Bombers became obsessed with severed moose parts is not known. What is known is that they love severed moose parts and that’s sort of creepy.

"“They actually keep [a severed moose leg] frozen in their rink,” OCN Blizzard play-by-play announcer Bradley Karp said, via Winnipeg Free Press. “At least, that’s what I’ve been told.”"
