Stanford Cardinal vs. Notre Dame Fighting Irish
The Notre Dame Fighting Irish were one of the most dominant women’s college basketball teams in the nation in the regular season and that’s certainly continued in the Women’s Tournament to where they’re now in the Sweet 16. However, they’ll have a much tougher job ahead of them in the Sweet 16 as they take on the Stanford Cardinal at Rupp Arena.

Notre Dame has a number of players with varying experience that have led the way to the Sweet 16. Sophomore forward Brianna Turner has been big for them on the interior. However, junior guard Lindsay Allen and senior guard Madison Cable have both been big-time contributors for the Irish this season and they’ll need them to be just that in the Sweet 16. Stanford has a pair of juniors that are hard to handle in their own right in guard Lili Thompson and forward Erica McCall. The Cardinal aren’t going to have much success at all if those two don’t show up to play on Friday night.
