Tennessee Volunteers vs. Ohio State Buckeyes
The Tennessee Volunteers are one of the most storied women’s college basketball programs in the country and, despite their struggles through the regular season, have made a run to the Women’s Sweet 16 this year. Now they’ll look to keep this run going on Friday as they head to the Denny Sanford Premier Center to take on the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Diamond DeShields is one of the most versatile guards in the nation for Tennessee and has certainly been the driving force behind carrying this team to the Women’s Sweet 16. However, the Volunteers could certainly use the size and prowess of sophomore center Mercedes Russell as well if they want to carry on past this point in the tournament. To do that, Tennessee will have to handle a prolific sophomore guard for the Buckeyes in Kelsey Mitchell. Mitchell has been dominant leading up to the Women’s Sweet 16 and, with the help of junior forward Shayla Cooper, Ohio State should be looking to go much further in the tournament than this.
