Anyone who grew up watching NBA basketball in the 1990s has a special place in their heart for the Chicago Bulls player introductions. With how great the Bulls were during the Michael Jordan era, Chicago was often on TV, and especially during playoff time those broadcasts included the in arena player introductions. While most were fun, there was something about the Bulls and the Allen Parsons Project that still gives goosebumps to many fans to this day.

As it turns out, that intro would have never happened if Tommy Edwards, the former and current Bulls PA announcer, did not get to a movie on time. Per CSNChicago:

"Current Bulls PA announcer Tommy Edwards and his wife were at the Biograph movie theater, waiting for their picture to begin when he heard a song. The background music being played before the movie was “Sirius” by The Alan Parsons Project. The first track on the band’s sixth album that was released in 1982 caught Edwards’ attention."

The entire video is well worth your time but it is incredible how much chance played into this amazing intro. If Edwards was a few minutes later and missed the song the Bulls could very well have been still introduced to Thriller, which would not be anywhere near as memorable.

Instead we have arguable the greatest intro of any professional sports organization.
