Updated 2016 NIT bracket: Semifinals set

A look at the updated bracket for the 2016 NIT now that the semifinals are set

When it comes to the NIT, people might frown upon it because there’s no chance of winning a national championship. However, this tournament means something because not only can you win a trophy to give you a successful end to the season, but you also get to compete for that in Madison Square Garden beginning with the semifinals if you’re good enough to make it that far.

Well, now we know the four teams that will be playing inside Madison Square Garden for the right to call themselves 2016 NIT Champions.

In the semifinals, which will be taking place on March 29, things will get started at 7:00 p.m. ET when Valparaiso takes on BYU, and from there, at 9:00 p.m. ET, we’ll know who the winner of that game will be facing as George Washington takes on San Diego State.

Here’s a look at the updated bracket with these four teams set to do battle in the semifinals inside Madison Square Garden next week.

It’s been a pretty exciting tournament thus far, but now it’s time to find out who really wants it all in the Big Apple. While the tournament as a whole doesn’t receive the same recognition that the NCAA Tournament does, these matchups have the opportunity to bring us some pretty good basketball these last three games.
