A look at the updated 2016 March Madness bracket after Oklahoma advances to the Final Four with a win over Oregon
The Oklahoma Sooners taking on the Oregon Ducks in the Elite Eight out of the West Region in March Madness was one of the most highly anticipated matchups of the round. These two teams seemed tailor-made to collide and put on quite the show. However, there are times when a superstar just comes out and doesn’t allow the opponent to ever even think about getting a win. That’s what Buddy Hield did on Saturday night vs Oregon.
Hield exploded in the first half to put up 17 points on 5-6 shooting from beyond the arc as the Sooners jumped out to a big lead going into the locker room. Not only was Hield simply out of his mind in the Elite Eight, but his play seemingly rattled the Ducks in a major way and they didn’t know how to respond to what was happening to them.
Oklahoma and Buddy didn’t stop as they came out of the locker room for the second half, either. Hield continued the onslaught to the tune of scoring 20 more points in the final 20 minutes of play and ultimately hitting eight threes on the night. Hield and the Sooners were just far too much for any team, Oregon included, to handle and Oklahoma moved onto the Final Four.
With the Sooners now punching a ticket to Houston and the Final Four, let’s take a look at the updated 2016 March Madness bracket to see where things stand.

Oklahoma will face the winner of the matchup between Kansas and Villanova and their Final Four matchup as they look to keep title hopes alive.
