A look at the updated 2016 March Madness bracket after Villanova beat Kansas to advance to the Final Four
The Kansas Jayhawks entered 2016 March Madness as the No. 1 overall seed and, as such one of the favorites to win it all and take a national title back to Lawrence. Contrarily, the No. 2 seed in the South Region in the Villanova Wildcats didn’t have many believers in their camp given their recent struggles. However, narratives coming into the NCAA Tournament didn’t matter on Saturday night when the two teams faced off in the Elite Eight.
Villanova made it known quite quickly in the matchup that they weren’t about to mess around and roll over for the Jayhawks. Instead, they jumped out to a first half lead against Kansas and held onto the lead for the remainder of the first 20 minutes, though the No. 1 seed showed signs that they were ready to fight back.
Fight back Kansas did in the second half as they took the lead not long into the second half. However, they were unable to hold onto it for very long as the Wildcats took a lead into the final stretch of the game. With some curious officiating down the stretch and with some big shots from both teams, Villanova ultimately held on to get the win and move onto the Final Four.
With the Wildcats going to the Final Four, let’s take a look at the updated 2016 March Madness bracket to see where things stand and what could be on deck for the tournament.

Villanova will get a rematch in the Final Four against an Oklahoma Sooners team that beat the brakes off of them earlier this season in a game that will certainly be must-watch.
