Ranking the Elite Eight games for 2016 March Madness in terms of watchability

It was crazy upsets that ruled the First Round of 2016 March Madness as it seemed like double-digit seeds were advancing at every turn. Though there is still one double-digit seed remaining and though each region hasn’t played out chalk leading up to the Elite Eight, the higher seeds in each of the eight games in the Sweet 16 advanced on Thursday and Friday.

All four No. 1 seeds are still remaining in March Madness as the Kansas Jayhawks, North Carolina Tar Heels, Virginia Cavaliers, and Oregon Ducks all punched their tickets to the Elite Eight with double-digit victories in the Sweet 16. However, each of the four No. 1 seeds all have drastically different matchups awaiting them on Saturday and Sunday in the Elite Eight.

Perhaps the most interesting development is on the right side of the bracket, though, where the East Region and the Midwest Region Finals are both wholly occupied by ACC teams. While that’s great for narrative and follows suit considering how well the ACC has showed out in the tournament thus far, it might not make for the most intriguing or watchable matchup in the Elite Eight.

At this point in March Madness, just about everyone is going to be watching every game just because the stakes are so high. But it’s important to note that not all of these games are equal. If fans want to know which games they should put ahead of the others in terms of how good the games could potentially be, then take a look at how they stack up against one another in terms of watchability.
