March Madness is a time for NBA-only fans to catch up on the top prospects that will be entering the upcoming NBA Draft. That is especially true for fans of the league’s bottom tier, and in this space each week, we examine and break down the worst of the worst in the NBA from a “tanking” perspective.

Contrary to popular belief, none of the worst teams are excluded from our focus, even if a team (cough, the Nets, cough) does not own its first round selection in 2016. We are simply taking the bottom feeders to task here, and that won’t stop even as the nation focuses on the next wave of NBA-ready talent coming out of the college ranks.

Let’s get to the particulars, counting down from 5 to 1.

38. <p>Losing six straight games in March is a quick way to end up on this list.</p> <p>To be fair to the Magic, all six defeats came against quality teams (with the Pistons being the worst of the bunch), but the final three losses came by double figures and Orlando isn’t exactly playing well. On a grand scale, it has been a frustrating year for this particular organization, given that their overall talent level is higher than some squads on this list, but streakiness has been an issue for the Magic and that problem is rearing its ugly head now.</p>.
