2. team. 20.
Byron Scott and company have lost back-to-back games to the disastrous Suns, and even with a win over the shorthanded Grizzlies, the Lakers gave away their real opportunity to ascend on this list. Los Angeles was housed, at home, by the Nuggets on Friday night, and if that isn’t a microcosm of the season, I don’t know what is.

Every time it seems as if the Lakers may start building on their young talent, something happens to the contrary. On the bright side, the Sixers won’t post the worst winning percentage in NBA history even if they lose the rest of their games, but Philadelphia’s jarringly putrid 96.1 offensive rating on the year can’t be ignored.

I have long maintained that this Philly team has overachieved when compared to its talent, but it is very hard to explain away this type of futility over an extended period of time. Alas, here we are.
