NFL Draft Rumors: Broncos interested in Dak Prescott?
By Josh Hill
The Broncos, Bills and Eagles all have interest in Mississippi State quarterback Dak Prescott.
We are just around the corner from the NFL Draft, which means we’re going to start hearing more and more about potential picks for teams beyond just the Top-10. Most of the action is all about the top of the order and who will be picked, but there’s a lot going on in the mid to late rounds as well.
One name that we’re starting to hear more about is Mississippi State quarterback Dak Prescott. While everyone is obsessed with Caron Wentz and Paxton Lynch at the top of the draft, there is growing interest in mid-level quarterbacks like Prescott and Conor Cook.
According to Chase Goodbread of NFL.com, the Broncos are joined by Bills and Eagles as having interest in Prescott.
The Cowboys also have interest in Prescott, which makes sense given they need a long-term backup option behind Tony Romo and won’t be finding it on the open market. With Robert Griffin III in Cleveland and Johnny Manziel’s off-field issues a non-starter, Dallas having interest in a mid-round quarterback makes a lot of sense.
Denver has Mark Sanchez as their starting quarterback as of right now, which makes them an even more natural choice to select a quarterback high up in the draft to develop for the future. That doesn’t mean Prescott will be the quarterback of the future in Denver, but John Elway is leaving no stone unturned.
