Wayne Selden hits circus and-one vs Villanova (Video)

Wayne Selden converted an insane and-1 in the second half against Villanova in the Elite Eight

If the Kansas Jayhawks were going to make it past their toughest test to date on Saturday night as they took on the Villanova Wildcats, they were certainly going to need their star guard in Wayne Selden to come through with some big shots down the stretch. As it turns out, a little luck for the Jayhawks and for Selden and particularly isn’t a bad thing either for their cause.

In the second half after the Jayhawks had taken a slight lead, Wayne Selden drove to the left side of the floor right off the block. Selden felt the contact coming as he looked for his shot and just let it fly as he got hit. The ball also got tipped up in the air, but it took an ultra-friendly bounce off the top of the backboard and down through the net for one of the craziest and-ones you’ll ever see:

That shot doesn’t go in roughly 97 percent of the time, but somehow the gods smiled upon Selden and the Jayhawks on the biggest stage that this team has ever been on in March Madness. Though they fell back behind the Wildcats not long after, I’m sure Kansas and Wayne Selden will take an opportune stroke of luck rather than not.
