Kevin Harlan’s final call of Syracuse upsetting Virginia is perfect (Video)

Kevin Harlan had the perfect call and line for Syracuse upsetting Virginia on Easter Sunday in the Elite Eight

The Syracuse Orange really weren’t given much of a chance in the Elite Eight as the No. 10 seed had to go up against an in-conference foe and the No. 1 seed in the Midwest Region in the Virginia Cavaliers on Sunday night. And for the first half, not giving Syracuse a chance seemed like the right call. However, hell hath no fury like a disrespected Jim Boeheim and his team proved that in the second half.

After being doubted from Selection Sunday all the way through their run to the Elite Eight, the Orange again had a message for all the doubters as freshman Malachi Richardson led a huge comeback and Syracuse ultimately were able to climb ahead and upset Virginia on Easter Sunday to advance to the Final Four.

As if that wasn’t a good enough moment, though, Kevin Harlan on the TBS broadcast then delivered an instant classic line in the light of the Easter Holiday and Syracuse’s comeback as he proclaimed, “Back from the dead on Easter Sunday,” regarding the Orange’s comeback:

There are seemingly always great calls by commentators in March Madness, but most of them are out of surprise at a made buzzer-beater or something of that nature. There aren’t many that are delivered quite in the manner or quite as perfectly as this gem from Harlan on Sunday night.

Someone in Syracuse needs to go ahead and start printing up the t-shirts.
