Villanova alum Kyle Lowry tried to answer reporters’ questions during their Elite 8 game, but failed miserably.

Shortly after the Toronto Raptors beat the New Orleans Pelicans, Villanova was locked in a tight contest with Kansas. Even though he had media duties, Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry was fully fixated on his alma mater as they tried to earn a berth to the Final Four for the first time since 2009. So naturally, when he got into a media scrum, he did his best to answer questions but continued interrupting himself with reactions to the game:

The reporters should’ve known better than to approach Lowry while the Wildcats were playing, but Toronto’s win was significant. It tied a franchise record for most wins in a season and with 10 games left, there’s a very good chance they’ll get to break it. If they were looking for a memorable quote after that momentous win, they were out of luck as Lowry responded with an apathetic “We tied it? That’s cool man.”

Of course, Villanova ended up securing a berth in the Final Four and Lowry celebrated accordingly.

Right now, Lowry is the only one still invested in the tournament as everyone else’s team didn’t make it past the second round. Even though the Raptors have locked up a playoff berth, Lowry’s teammates are hoping that his mind won’t be elsewhere and that he’s focused on the task at hand.
