A look at the updated 2016 March Madness bracket now that the Final Four is set
There’s no doubt that it’s an honor for any college basketball team to make it into the field of 68 for March Madness. However, the ultimate goal of every team in the NCAA Tournament is to make it to the Final Four for the right to compete for a national championship. After the two Elite Eight games on Sunday night, we know which teams have earned that right and will be headed to Houston for the 2016 Final Four.
On Saturday night, it was the Oklahoma Sooners that punched the first ticket to Houston on the shoulders of a mammoth performance from their star guard in Buddy Hield in a win over the Oregon Ducks. In the nightcap on Saturday, the Villanova Wildcats showed their experience and grit to knock off the No. 1 overall seed in the tournament to advance to the Final Four.
Then came Sunday when the Syracuse Orange pulled off a major upset to start the night. The Orange erased a 16-point deficit against the Virginia Cavaliers to ultimately earn the win and become only the fourth double-digit seed to advance to the Final Four. In the late game, the North Carolina Tar Heels won yet another game by double-digits as they pulled away from the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the second half.
Now that the teams headed to the Final Four are set, let’s take a look at the updated 2016 March Madness bracket to see how things will go down in Houston next weekend.

The matchup between two ACC teams on the right side of the bracket should be a thrill to watch, as should the matchup between Oklahoma and Hield going up against the gritty and rolling Wildcats from Villanova.
