#19 – Time Warner Cable Arena – Charlotte Hornets

The Name: From a phonetic perspective, there is nothing wrong with this name. Maybe it’s a bit crowded. However, giving the naming rights to what was named the most hated company in America might repel more fans than it attracts. I live in Comcast Country, so I have no personal hatred for TWC. But I sympathize. 2/10

The Aesthetics: This arena would not be nearly so high if it weren’t for the boss court design. The honeycomb two-tone wood combined with a “Buzz City” logo combined one of the best color palettes in the league make the Hornets distinctive and generally likeable.

The Experience: If you have to pay $12 for a beer, you better have an arena where the energy is palpable. Fortunately, the home of the Charlotte Hornets is that arena. The entrances/exits cause a good deal of chaos, so if you visit be prepared for a rush in and out.

Overview: Much like Time Warner Cable, the arena pushes hard against the customer, with high prices and low convenience, but still provides a product just good enough not to quit.
