Who won the Final Four last year?

In last year’s NCAA Tournament, the 2015 Final Four was held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. Four traditional powers ended up making it to the Final Four in 2015 and three were No. 1 seeds.

The Duke Blue Devils of the ACC, the Wisconsin Badgers of the Big 10, and the Kentucky Wildcats of the SEC all won their regions as No. 1 seeds. Kentucky was then an undefeated team for head coach John Calipari. Michigan State was the other blue blood basketball program to make it to Indianapolis as a grossly under-seeded No. 7 seed.

Duke manhandled Michigan State in the National Semifinals, 81-61 on Saturday, April 4th. Wisconsin technically upset then undefeated Kentucky in the other National Semifinals game, 71-64, also on Saturday, April 4th.

Duke would face Wisconsin in the 2015 National Championship Game on Monday, April 6th just past 9:00 PM ET. Wisconsin had National Player of the Year in big man Frank Kaminsky. The Badgers hadn’t won a national title under then head coach Bo Ryan. However, Wisconsin was poised to hold their own against the Blue Devils.

The Blue Devils had been a basketball juggernaut ever since the winningest college coach ever in Mike Krzyzewski began building this collegiate basketball empire in Durham many years ago. Under Coach K, Duke had won four National Championships and had been to countless Final Fours in the last 30 years.

In what was an outstanding 2015 National Championship Game, Duke managed to defeat Wisconsin, 68-63 to win the school its fifth title under Krzyzewski and its second in six seasons.

Duke entered the Final Four as probably the third most likely team to win it all behind the winner of the Kentucky/Wisconsin game, but ample NCAA Tournament experience helped the Blue Devils capture yet another National Championship.
