When will the 2016 NBA Draft Lottery take place? 

The 2016 NBA Draft Lottery will take place on Tuesday, May 19. On that date, the order of the lottery picks for the non-playoff teams in the first round will be chosen. One team will be lucky and get to draft the player of their choosing at number one. With several enticing options, including Ben Simmons and Brandon Ingram, whoever gets the first overall pick will be the envy of the rest of the league.

It appears that the 2016 NBA Draft will have enough talent that anyone in the top 10 is going to be able to draft someone capable of making an immediate impact. Even teams drafting in the top 14 should be able to get a quality player with many attractive options available. Prospects from North America and from around the world should be picked in the top 14.

Teams that are expected to have the best chances of winning the lottery include the Philadelphia 76ers, Los Angeles Lakers, Phoenix Suns, New Jersey Nets (though they would be sending their first round pick to the Boston Celtics), and the Minnesota Timberwolves. Look out for the New Orleans Pelicans, as they could quickly descend in the standings without star forward Anthony Davis.
