Atlanta Braves adding zipline to new stadium opening in 2017

The Atlanta Braves will be adding a zipline to their new stadium that is opening for the 2017 season.

One year from now, the Atlanta Braves will be preparing for their first season inside their new stadium in the suburbs of the city. SunTrust Park will be part of a massive entertainment and shopping area in Cobb County, a move that was met with backlash from some residents over the development and some Braves fans for the team fleeing to the ‘burbs.

But don’t worry, Braves fans … there are going to be plenty of fun things to get your attention at the game. Besides all the shopping and foods to eat at the stadium and in the surrounding areas, inside the stadium, the Atlanta Braves are going to have a way for fans to get from one side of the stadium to another: a zipline!

A report from WSB Radio says the item will be ready to go when the stadium opens for the 2017 season:

"Braves Executive Vice-President Derek Schiller says a zip line is part of the team’s effort to make an outing to the ballpark more family friendly. The Atlanta Business Chronicle reports the zip line would most likely be placed behind the video board to carry people from one end of the concourse to the other."

The Atlanta Braves have also said the stadium will host a number of concerts starting in the summer of 2017, but wouldn’t announce any particular acts.

SunTrust Park won’t be the only stadium opening in 2017, as Mercedes-Benz Stadium will open in downtown Atlanta and serve as home for the Falcons and the Atlanta United MLS team, as well as the Chick-Fil-A Kickoff Classic and Peach Bowl plus the annual SEC Football championship.
