Kansas City Chiefs safety Husain Abdullah abruptly retires

Kansas City Chiefs safety Husain Abdullah has announced his retirement.
The NFL season is right around the corner from starting, but there are players who won’t be making the journey to 2016. One of those players is Kansas City Chiefs safety Husain Abdullah, who has made headlines in his career for his religious beliefs as much as he has for his stellar play on the field.
You might remember Abdullah for using a Muslim prayer pose to celebrate an interception return for a touchdown back in 2014 — something that sent the paste eaters of the world over the edge with faux-rage. But if you actually paid attention to football over the last seven years, then Abdullah pops up on your radar as one of the more consistent safety options a team could hope for.
In a post on Instagram, Abdullah announced his retirement from the NFL, citing the ongoing concussion epidemic as one of the main factors.
