McDonald’s might be changing their classic catchphrase to something a lot more boring.
If you were really attached to the old McDonald’s catchphrase “I’m Lovin’ It”, then you might want t sit down and adjust your heavy breathing brought on by years of Big Mac abuse.
According to a recent report, McDonald’s might be changing it’s classic “I’m Lovin’ It” catchphrase to “The Simpler The Better”.
That’s just all of the awful at once.
It’s pandering at its best, but it’s typical McDonald’s pandering where they’re a little too late to a new trend. Minimalist things are hip and cool but McDonald’s smearing itself all over that trend might kill it.
This speculation comes after trademark paperwork was filed by McDonald’s, but an announcement hasn’t been made official just yet. It makes a ton of sense for McDonald’s to want to change up their catchphrase as it’s right in line with the other lipstick on a pig changes they’ve been trying to make to their franchise.
We’ve already seen the notoriously fatty fast food joint try to get healthier and appeal to this new generation ha health-conscious consumers by throwing words like ‘Artisan’ ‘All-Natural’ in front of their garbage products. It has managed to keep the company afloat but it’s still not fooling most people. They even went in on new bags — which is all aesthetic but has also sort of worked.
Changing up their catchphrase goes right in line with these other image change decisions that have been made, but does it really change how little we care about McDonald’s?
