The NFL Draft can get weird.

Unlike some other walks of life where pundits can accurately project much of what transpires, the draft process is unique on the day it occurs. Even the best NFL Draft projection might nail seven or eight picks in the first round, and simply projecting 25 of the 32 (or 31 this year) players even selected in the first round would be a coup for most experts.

In 2016, there is a consensus building as to who the Tennessee Titans will select with the number one overall pick, and that undoubtedly impacts how the rest of the top five and, by proxy, the rest of the first round will go. In this mock draft, though, we will take a different approach in shying away from that consensus at the top, and the results will be quite interesting.

At this point, the “obvious” pick for the Titans just might be the selection that transpires, and we are fully aware of that. However, nothing can be fully trusted when it comes to the NFL Draft until the number one pick is signed, sealed and delivered, and even without the benefit of projecting trades (which we will not do in this space), things can fly off the rails in a hurry.

Let’s take a look.
