Things aren’t going very well for the Chicago Bulls these days. They’re free falling right out of the Eastern Conference playoff picture and right into the lottery. They’d lost three straight coming into tonight’s game against the Hawks, and sat a full two games back of Detroit for the final spot in the tournament. Those three defeats have come at the hands of the Knicks (twice!) and Magic. Yuck.
The Hawks, meanwhile, are flying high and are currently perched in the East’s No. 3 slot, just ahead of Boston, Miami and Charlotte. Paul Millsap’s continued excellence has been a major factor in ATL’s resurgent play since the calendar flipped to 2016, as evidenced in part by this high-flying block on Pau Gasol Monday night (via @NBA):
"Millsap meets Gasol at the rim on @NBATV! #NBARapidReplay#ATLatCHIhttps://t.co/zH520xmBwL— NBA (@NBA) March 29, 2016"
Yep, this sums up the current state of the Bulls pretty well.
