Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook threw down a big dunk and Kevin Durant was hyped up about it
On Monday night with just over two weeks left in the NBA regular season, the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Toronto Raptors faced off in what you could call the potential dark horse NBA Finals preview. Both teams have been playing phenomenally, but it’s really been Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant of the Thunder stealing the show as of late. Even when they weren’t on the floor together on Monday night, they still teamed up to make an incredible highlight.
Midway through the second quarter, Westbrook picked off a pass at the top of the key and broke like a speeding bullet the other way. With no one on the Raptors even bothering to try and stop him, Russ threw down a big two-handed jam. Needless to say that Kevin Durant, who was on the bench resting at the time, was hyped as he strolled up the sidelines raising the roof to celebrate:
Though they have been frustrating throughout the years together in Oklahoma City, Durant and Westbrook when they are in-sync are a joy to watch both in terms of what they can do on a basketball court and how they interact even when they aren’t on the floor together. They truly have a special bond—one that Thunder fans are praying stays together for many more years given Durant entering free agency this summer.
