Brad Marchand contorted his way through two Devils defensemen to score his 35th goal of the season

The Boston Bruins have gotten incredible production this season from center Patrice Bergeron and wing Brad Marchand. Serving in their usual shutdown role, the duo has taken on a much larger role in terms of scoring and Marchand is having a career year. How has he done it? By using his lack of size to his advantage. The diminutive Marchand is speedy and hard to catch, as the poor New Jersey Devils found out.

"Okay but how sick is Brad Marchand right now?https://t.co/8ctIqYLcBp— NHL (@NHL) March 30, 2016"

Devils defensemen Andy Greene and Adam Larsson played that breakaway about as well as they could have. They tried to cut off Marchand, but Marchand was simply too quick and too tiny for them to get him as he squeezed past them to score on a breakaway. Heads up play there by Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara for seeing Marchand and getting him the puck at just the right time.

That is Marchand’s 35th goal of the season, which is a career high for him. He also has a career high points with 56 to go along with 21 assists. His 227 shots on goal are a career high as well.
