Two Thunder fans traveled from Germany to see Kevin Durant play the Pistons, only to find out he isn’t playing.
The NBA has become such a popular brand on a global scale, that fans of the game are traveling across the world to see their favorite teams and players in one of the most thrilling sports settings ever. The thought of being able to see your favorite superstar live is something that will last a lifetime.
Unfortunately for two fans from Germany, they traveled all the way to Detroit, Michigan to find out that their favorite player would not be playing, but rather resting. With the Oklahoma City Thunder facing the Detroit Pistons, the two fans from Germany held up signs mentioning their voyage and signs that cheered on Kevin Durant.
According to EPSN’s Royce Young, the fans couldn’t believe it when they found out that Durant would not be suited up to take on the Pistons.
Just look at the smiles on these two fans’ faces before they find out their dreams are about to be crushed and that they most likely spent thousands of dollars and hard-earned wages to see their favorite player sit in a suit. It’s almost sickening to think of, but that’s life in the NBA when the season starts winding down and players start getting rest for the playoffs.
Hopefully, Durant will go over and show them some love. The Thunder winning and Russell Westbrook having a big night could help too.
