Kevin Love made a funny, albeit uncomfortable comment to the lucky Cleveland Cavaliers fan that became general manager for the day: Don’t trade me, okay?
The Cleveland Cavaliers organization may have themselves a darn good NBA basketball team that is supposedly going to coast through the Eastern Conference Playoffs to the NBA Finals, but that doesn’t mean that the highly dysfunctional franchise of Northeast Ohio won’t get in its own way.
As any dysfunctional franchise would do, the Cavaliers organization held a contest for one of its many fans to become a faux general manager for the day. So naturally starting forward Kevin Love made a funny, albeit slightly uncomfortable joke to the general manager for the day: “Don’t trade me, okay?”
Kevin Love just met a fan who won a Cavs general manager for the day contest after practice: "Heyyy, GM for the day. Don't trade me, OK?"

Love was obviously making light of the uncomfortable situation of the real Cavaliers general manager David Griffin reportedly having Love on the trading block earlier this season. Many speculate that Love was nearly dealt at the NBA trade deadline, but no tangible offer developed.
ESPN’s Zach Lowe feels strongly that Love was almost shipped up to Boston, as Celtics general manager Danny Ainge absolutely covets a player of Love’s caliber to play in head coach Brad Stevens’ offense at the stretch four.
While that general manager for the day obviously doesn’t have the ability to trade Love or that even Griffin could send him in a deal as the 2016 NBA trade deadline has come and gone, that simple fact that Love halfway joked with a fan about his position on the trading block doesn’t bode well for Love’s long term future with the Cavaliers. Doesn’t he have an Eastern Conference Playoffs run to worry about as the No. 1 seed?
