One of the top projected picks in April’s NFL Draft, former Florida State star Jalen Ramsey, impressed plenty of scouts during the school’s Pro Day.
With just one month to go until the 2016 NFL Draft, prospects from across the country are putting the finishing touches on their resumes for getting picked by one of the 32 pro teams.
After individual workouts and the NFL combine, the last step is participating in Pro Days held by their schools in front of dozens of scouts from NFL teams.
Tuesday, former stars for the Florida State Seminoles were back on campus to participate in the school’s Pro Day, as FSU looks to add to the 29 draft picks they have had in the last three years. While there is plenty of talent in the entire group, the main attraction was defensive back Jalen Ramsey.
In the last month, Ramsey has gone from being a top five pick to someone that more and more mock drafts think will be the top pick of the Tennessee Titans in late April. Ramsey only improved his stock with a solid showing in Tallahassee in front of reps from every team, including most of the Titans’ coaching staff and front office:
"Jalen Ramsey participated in individual defensive back drills.#ProDayhttps://t.co/MaNlWlkG1v— FSU Football (@FSU_Football) March 29, 2016"
Ramsey did almost all drills, but didn’t run the 40 yard dash like he did at the NFL combine. After his drills, Ramsey sounded like a seasoned pro after his audition for the NFL. talking about his desire to be the first pick in the NFL Draft:
If Ramsey is the first pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, Florida State would become just the second school in the history of the draft to have back-to-back top overall picks, joining USC from 1968 and 1969. Jameis Winston went from being the starting quarterback of the ‘Noles to being picked first overall by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last April.
