Tim Tebow, the former NFL quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner at Florida, told a FOX News reporter he may someday go into politics.
Even though he hasn’t thrown a pass during a regular season game in the NFL in years, Tim Tebow is still a household name that some fans want to take over for Peyton Manning, Cam Newton or Tom Brady as the next great signal caller in the league.
The former Heisman Trophy winner and national champion quarterback while at Florida, Tebow has spent his time trying to get back on a NFL roster while spending his time working with his own charity and others from across the state of Florida and around the country.
Ever since his time with the Florida Gators, the joke inside the Sunshine State was that he would someday run for office inside the state, based on his popularity. During a recent interview with FOX News at his latest golf event, Tebow was asked about the 2016 presidential campaigns and, in his answer, didn’t rule out a possible run in the future:
Tebow is not just wildly popular in his North Florida home area because of his time quarterbacking the beloved Gators, but also for his deep evangelical beliefs that are also held by many in that area. Tim Tebow would join the likes of Heath Shuler, J.C. Watts and Jack Kemp as college and NFL quarterbacks who went into the political game once their time with the pigskin was complete.
